Longsight Library and Learning Centre

Longsight Learning Centre is situated above the newly developed Longsight Library and Learning Centre. It’s located on Stockport Road in Longsight.   

Opening hours

  • Monday: 9:00am-4:00pm 
  • Tuesday: 9:00am-4:00pm 
  • Wednesday: 9:00am-4:00pm 
  • Thursday: 9:00am-4:00pm 
  • Friday: 9:00am-4:00pm 

The library on the ground floor of the building has different opening hours to our learning centre if you are wishing to study privately after the learning centre closes.  

Accessibility

The centre is fully wheelchair accessible with lifts, ramps and accessible toilets. 

Directions

All our centres have multiple options for transport, so whatever your preference, you will find getting there easy. 

Walk and cycle  

Our centre is located on Stockport Road, a busy area of Longsight, making it easy to access on foot in the local area. 

10-minute cycle from the Fallowfield loop; a protected cycle and walkway. 

A limited number of cycling racks are available outside the centre to secure your bike. 

Bus and tram 

If walking or cycling isn’t an option, Longsight Library and Learning Centre is well served by local buses, including the 150, 191, 192, 197, 733, 742 and the 749. These buses run from a stop just outside the centre.

Car 

From A57(M): Head west on A57(M) and merge onto Downing Street/A6. At the roundabout take the first exit onto Stockport Road. Continue straight on.

Once there, car parking is available at rear (entrance on Kirkmanshulme Lane, follow signs for Asda).

Since Longsight Library and Learning Centre is one of our busiest centres, many courses from each of the different subject areas are taught here.

Microsoft for Work

If you are looking to develop your skills and knowledge in using Microsoft applications for work, then this course is for you.

Functional Skills Maths

Available at five different levels from entry to Level 2, with Functional Skills Maths you will have the chance to gain nationally recognised Functional Maths qualification.
