Course details
The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges focuses on developing the practical skills and knowledge for health and social care or education settings by covering topics like identifying types of challenging behaviour, understanding underlying issues, managing incidents, and the importance of reflection and support for those involved.
On this course, you will study the following six mandatory units:
- Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
- Introduction to personalisation in social care
- Principles of positive risk-taking for individuals with disabilities
- Introductory awareness of Autistic Spectrum Conditions
- Principles of supporting individuals with a learning disability to access healthcare.
This course will be delivered online via Google Classroom, and as such you will need access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device.
For this course, you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
To be eligible for this course, you should have a Level 1 English and maths qualification.
It's a course everyone should take - all professionals should take this course to be mindful and know how to deal with challenging behaviour in the workplace, general public and at home.
