Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values
Course details
The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values qualification is to develop your knowledge and understanding of the Prevent duty, British values, safeguarding and online safety.
You will learn more about how to uphold British values in your current or future roles and develop your understanding of the effects of extremism, radicalisation and terrorism.
You will also learn how to promote equality, diversity, and social inclusion in the workplace to support the Government’s agenda of tackling radicalisation and extremism, as well as increase your knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and online safety.
On this course, you will cover the following units:
- Principles of safeguarding
 - The importance of British Values
 - The importance of online safety
 - The Prevent duty and its importance in society
 
This course will be delivered online via Google Classroom, and as such, you will need access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device.
For this course, you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
To be eligible for this course, you should have a minimum Level 1 English and maths qualification or equivalent.

Following this course, you could be ready to join other professional development courses at Manchester Adult Education, such as the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities or the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges.
You will also be able to use your new understanding and skills within your current role.
