Course details
This course will teach you the essential IT knowledge required for the workplace. So, whether your aim is to secure a new job or progress in your existing role, this course will help you to develop your practical IT office skills and improve your working knowledge of industry standard software and common applications.
On this Level 2 Digital Office Essentials course, there are two mandatory units:
Word processing software: In this unit, you will develop your ability to maximise the tools available in word-processing software to prepare, process and produce a wide range of sophisticated and professional documents accurately and efficiently.
Spreadsheet Software: In this second unit, you will develop an understanding of spreadsheet software tools and techniques to be able to produce spreadsheets. You will learn how to apply advanced formulae and functions to process data and use automated tools to aid productivity.
This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom at our adult learning centres.
For this course you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
To be eligible for this course, you will have already completed a Level 1 qualification in computing, digital or IT. You should also be able to demonstrate Level 2 English skills and have experience of using a computer and/or laptop and the internet.
You will also need access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device.
Career and progression
After completing this course, you could look to progress on a Level 2 Certificate in Digital Office Essentials or look at other Level 2 courses we offer in specialised areas including digital marketing and cybersecurity.
You may also be able to secure employment with your improved digital skills.
