Course details
This course is for you if you want to learn about different network types and the standards that relate to them. You will also need this qualification if you wish to progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Networking and Cybersecurity.
The qualification includes 1 Networking unit, which is structured around the following learning outcomes
Understand network components, protocols and applications.
Be able to configure a secure network.
Be able to troubleshoot and review a network.
This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom at one of our adult learning centres.
For this course, you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
Ideally have completed a Level 1 qualification in Digital Skills
You should be able to demonstrate Level 2 English skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
You should have experience of using a computer and/or laptop, the internet and social media
You will ideally have access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device
You should also have or be working towards a L2 award in Cybersecurity if you wish to progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Networking and Cybersecurity.
Career and progression routes
Following completion of this course, broaden your range of skills by progressing onto a Level 3 Certificate in Networking and Cybersecurity.
