Introduction to Enterprise – Make It Real is an 8-week course that’s designed to give you the tools, confidence, and practical support you need to turn your idea into a business.
You’ll learn how to use your existing skills and resources to start generating income quickly and sustainably.
Through a mix of interactive workshops and bookable 1-to-1 sessions, we’ll guide you step by step; from shaping your initial idea to knowing how to launch. Along the way, you’ll gain access to valuable business resources, hot-desking opportunities, and the chance to pitch your business idea at the end of the programme.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Turn your business ideas into a real, viable enterprise
- Use your existing skills and resources to start generating income
- Assess the feasibility and potential of your business idea
- Develop the mindset, skills, and behaviours of an entrepreneur
- Pitch your product or idea to customers and potential investors
- Present your business idea to the public at the end of the programme.
This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom at our adult learning centres and/or other teaching venues across the city. For some cohorts, online teaching may also be available.
Your progress on this course is measured by your participation, attending sessions, joining in activities, and making the most of the programme resources. You will also recieve a Manchester Adult Education certificate of attendance.
To be eligible for this course, you should be able to demonstrate Level 1 English skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
You should have experience of using a computer and/or laptop and the internet and ideally have access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device.
Sometimes the thought of setting up your own business can be intimidating, this course is here to show you that YOU CAN DO IT and help you on your way to beginning your entrepreneurial journey.
