Meet Md - an Ambition Manchester success story

After graduating in Quantity Surveying, Md faced challenges in securing a full-time role due to limited work experience. A conversation with a Job Centre career coach introduced him to Ambition Manchester.

This ultimately led to Md securing a placement with John Sisk & Son.

Md was keen to start his placement and apply his academic knowledge in a “real-world” setting. A typical day for him could include tasks such as:

  • Measuring and conducting material take-offs
  • Processing sub-contractor payments
  • Reviewing architectural drawings for discrepancies
  • Communicating with stakeholders to ensure the design team had the correct drawings.

During his time with John Sisk & Son Md gained valuable skills, including proficiency in Bluebeam software.

Md speaks highly of the mentorship he’s received. “My mentor is always there for advice and guidance” he shared. This support has been key to his growth and development.

While completing his temporary placement, Md applied for a graduate position, was successful, and is now working with them full time!
