Newton Heath Library

Newton Heath library is a small single-story library in the heart of Newton Heath. Situated just off Oldham Road and next to the canal, this centre is one of our smallest venues 

Opening hours

This centre is looked after by our business support staff at Abraham Moss Adult Learning Centre.

The business support team are available between 8:30am-4:00pm.

Accessibility

The centre is fully wheelchair accessible with ramps and accessible toilets. 

Directions

All our centres have multiple options for transport, so whatever your preference, you will find getting there easy. 

Walk and cycle  

Located in a largely residential area, the centre is easy to walk to from the local area. 

The library is located next to the Rochdale canal, making it an ideal location to cycle to along the waterway. 

There are 4 cycling racks outside the centre to secure your bike. 

Bus and tram 

If walking or cycling isn’t an option, Newton Heath Library is well served by local buses, including the 52, 151, 171, 172, 688, 704, 708, 709, 711, 726 from Newton Heath Terminus and 83, 84, 151, 181, 182 from Oldham Road.  

These buses run from a stop just outside the centre. 

The library is a 5-minute walk from the Newton Heath and Moston Metrolink tram stop.

Car 

From M60: Head north on the M60 and take exit 22 to the A62. Follow straight on this road and then turn left onto Old Church Street.

Once there, parking is available at the rear of the library, off Troydale Drive.
