Gorton Hub

Gorton Hub is a modern building in Gorton, Manchester. It houses Gorton Library, a Jobcentre+Gorton Medical Centre, One Manchester, Manchester Local Care Organisation and our learning centre. It is one of our smaller learning centres, comprising of two classrooms. 

Opening hours

This centre is looked after by our business support staff at Longsight Library and Learning Centre.

The business support team are available between 9:00am-4:00pm.

Accessibility

The centre is fully wheelchair accessible with lifts, ramps and accessible toilets. 

Directions

All of our centres have multiple options for transport, so whatever your preference, you can access one of our learning centres.   

Walk and cycle  

Gorton Hub is located between Garrat Way and Hyde Road, in a busy area of Gorton, making it easily accessible on foot from the local area. 

5-minute cycle from the Fallowfield loop; a protected cycle and walkway. 

There are cycling racks are available outside the front and back of centre to secure your bike. 

Bus and tram 

If walking or cycling isn’t an option, Gorton Hub is well served by local buses, including the 7, 201, 202, 203, 205, 705 706 from Hyde Road and the 7, 53, 150, 171, 172, 205, 688, 705, 706, 713, 725, 727, 748 from Garratt Way. 

These buses run from a stop just outside the centre.

Car 

From the M60: Head north and exit on Junction 24 onto the A57. Continue straight until you reach Whitehall Way, turn right. Turn right again onto Garratt Way. Turn right onto Robertson Close. 

Once there, there is car parking at rear (entrance on Robertson Close). 

What can I study at Gorton Hub?

Despite being a small centre, we have a wide range of subjects taught such as ESOL, EnglishCounsellingMaths, and Education.

E3/L1 Essential Digital Skills

On this course, you’ll learn how to use different devices for handling information, creating and editing, communicating, and transacting while remaining safe, secure and responsible online.

Functional Skills Maths

Available at five different levels from entry to Level 2, with Functional Skills Maths you will have the chance to gain nationally recognised Functional Maths qualification.
