This qualification is designed for learners to learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. You will develop text-based programming skills to design and develop your computer program.

On this course you will:

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom at our adult learning centres.
How will I be assessed?
For this course, you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
Entry requirements
- You should have secure L1 practical IT skills and IT knowledge
- You must be able to speak, read and write English confidently (Level 2)
- You will ideally have access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device (depending on device availability)
- You will need to have L1 award in Introduction to Programming or equivalent knowledge

After completing this course, you could look to progress on to Level 2 Award in Networking.
You could also use skills gained in this course to secure a new role or progress in your current workplace.
