Learn English and Progress

16-18 ESOL Study Programme

Introducing LEAP: Learn English and Progress

Do you speak English as a second language? Are you looking to improve these skills? If yes, then our ESOL study programme, LEAP, is ideal for you.

LEAP is designed for 16–18-year-olds who are eager to improve their English writing, reading, listening and speaking skills in a supportive environment.

We understand that learning a new language can be challenging which is why we have created a programme

that acts as your first step to learning English, encourages your progress and opens doors to new opportunities. We will support you to make the right choices and gain access to the education that you are entitled to.

Why join LEAP at Manchester Adult Education:

A small, caring environment: Our smaller class sizes mean that you will receive personalised support from our tutors. We create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can feel comfortable to express yourself and ask questions.

Tailored for low-level English learners: Our 16-18 ESOL study programme is specifically designed for low-level English speakers which will allow you to build a solid foundation at your own pace.

We make our lessons fun! Alongside ESOL lessons, we offer fun and engaging opportunities for you to practice your English skills outside the classroom such as outings in Manchester and interactive sessions in art therapy or music.

What does a typical LEAP week look like?

With us your week will be filled with engaging activities that promote both language learning and confidence building.

You will attend college five days a week. In the mornings, you will attend ESOL lessons where our dedicated teachers will help you improve your English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and maths, and in the afternoons, you will take part in enrichment activities such as:

  • Art therapy
  • Music
  • Sports
  • Visits in and around Manchester such as museums and galleries.
