If you’re self-employed, planning to start your own business or looking to explore employment in the digital creative sector, this Level 2 Certificate in Digital Marketing course will teach you the essential digital marketing knowledge and skills you need for online success.
You will learn about social media marketing, presentation software (including best practice accessibility), make a career plan and design a social media marketing proposal/campaign.
The Level 2 Certificate in Digital Marketing consists of the following mandatory four units:
Social Media Marketing: In this unit, you will learn how social media marketing is used to promote products and services. You will understand how digital technologies, channels and platforms are used in social media marketing campaigns and develop ideas and strategies to create and present a social media marketing campaign proposal for a particular product or service.
Presentation Software: You will develop your understanding of presentation software and how to create effective presentations for different purposes and audiences. You will also learn about inclusive design and how to apply techniques to ensure presentations are accessible.
Digital Skills Career Progression: In this unit, you will explore the importance of digital skills in the workplace and how changes in employment have led to an increase in demand across a number of sectors. You will learn about the different types of job roles where digital skills are required and the characteristics valued by employers to establish a successful career in today’s digital economy. You will work with our careers advisors to identify your own career or progression goals and plan how to meet them.
Digital Skills Project: For this final unit, you will develop the knowledge and skills you have learnt to plan, develop and review a digital skills project: your social media marketing campaign. You will understand concepts of project management including planning, executing, monitoring and closing. Your project will be developed by you with the support of your tutor and could involve website development (Google Sites), content creation for socials and creating a calendar planner to set up and manage posts.
This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom at our adult learning centres.
You will access materials and complete assignments via Google Classroom.
For this course, you will be required to create a portfolio of evidence meeting the assessment criteria for the qualification.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 1 qualification in Digital Skills before joining this course. You should be able to demonstrate Level 2 English skills (speaking, reading, and writing) and have experience of using a computer and/or laptop, the internet and social media.
You will also need access to a device (laptop or computer) at home. You can apply to our Chromebook loan system if you do not have a suitable device.

After completing this course, you may be interested in exploring different specialisms within the digital marketing sector including social media, content marketing, PPC, SEO or email marketing.
You may also be able to secure employment with your improved digital marketing knowledge and skills.
