Higher level qualifications
We offer level 3 and 4 courses in a range of areas including digital marketing, maths, teaching and training, and health and social care.
By studying a higher level course, you’ll open yourself up to a world of higher education and employment opportunities. Many of our courses including nationally recognised qualifications and are accepted by higher education institutions. If you’re already in employment, there’s opportunity for you to complement your current career with our professional development courses.
How will I be taught?
We have a wide range of delivery models for our level 3 and level 4 courses. Some of these include classroom-based learning, online lessons, independent online study and sector related work placements.
You will need a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and a good internet connection to join the online sessions and/or access learning materials and resources between sessions. You will need access to a laptop or PC to complete assignments throughout the course.
Don’t worry if this is a new way of learning for you – our tutors will explain how online learning works and support you to do this. We also host Skill Up drop in workshops where you can brush up on your digital skills to help support your learning.

Level 3 and 4 courses

This course is an introductory qualification ideal for people who would like to work or volunteer as teachers, tutors and trainers in adult and community learning, further education and/or work-based training.

This course is suitable for you if you’re looking to assess occupational competence in the work environment and/or vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (i.e., a workshop, classroom or other training environment).

The Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care will provide you with an in-depth knowledge of core subject areas in health and social care to support progression into Higher Education, the workplace or further learning in related subject areas at Level 4 and above.
You must be in paid or voluntary work to enable an assessment to take place in the workplace.

Through studying this course you will develop the knowledge, skills and competence required to work in a wide range of roles in health and social care settings. You will also be able to progress onto a higher level qualification in the same subject area.
This qualification is approved by skills for care.
You must be in paid or voluntary work to enable an assessment to take place in the workplace.
If you’re interested in using counselling skills as part of your role or are looking to progress towards accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional accrediting bodies – this course is for you.
This qualification does not qualify you to practise as a counsellor, but it aims to provide you with more in-depth knowledge of the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, and the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.

Designed for new and aspiring junior managers, on this course you will develop the core skills and understanding needed to deal with management responsibilities and develop as a leader, helping to start your career with confidence.

The Level 3 Award in English for Literacy Teaching course is for you if you need to develop your skills in order to meet the entry requirement for joining a subject-specific teaching qualification in literacy and ESOL.

This course aims to build on skills and knowledge learnt at GCSE level. It’s ideal for you if you’re looking to do further study in subjects such as science, geography, economics or business, progress on to Higher Education or gain employment.
